The second quarter of the school year is half over, but there is still time to help your child raise their GPA! Mid-terms are coming up soon and teachers are busy collecting assignments, any missing work and assessing each student’s progress. Now is a good time to review your child’s grades and evaluate where they may need help. Talk to your child’s teacher and see what subjects they need extra help in. Set aside time each night to help with homework and make sure all of the work is getting done. Faced with budget cuts, some schools no longer have enough staff to give more attention to every kid who needs it.
If your child is struggling in a subject and you feel you can’t help them, you may want to consider hiring a tutor. A tutor can boost a child’s self-confidence and give them the tools be successful in a class. Some children also respond better to a tutor than their teacher or parent. Early intervention will help prevent your child from falling further behind. Brock’s Academy offers one-on-one tutoring to students K-12 and can help kids get caught up in a class more quickly. Our tutors take the time to assess each student individually and customize a tutoring plan specifically for that child.
Brock’s Academy tutors kids both, in-home throughout the Puget Sound region and at our new site in Woodinville. If your child’s grades need a boost give Brock’s Academy a call at 425-483-1353 or go to www.brocksacademy.com.
