Homeschooling Ancillary Program

Homeschooling is not for the faint of heart. It is a challenging job and a huge responsibility to take on your child’s education. There are many benefits to homeschooling:

Parents can control what subjects their children learn and when they learn it. Homeschooling allows for a flexible schedule and it gives parents the opportunity to watch their children grow and learn firsthand. If the child has behavior problems or a learning disability, parents can work at a pace that suits the child’s learning style. If the child is gifted, the parents can work at an accelerated pace. The parent can focus on child’s strengths and take extra time to help them with subjects that they may be struggling in. Homeschooling can also allow for more interest based learning. For example if a family takes a vacation during the school year, the parent can make the trip educational.

The challenges of homeschooling may include teaching subjects to the child that are difficult for the parent. Subjects such as Chemistry, Calculus, Trigonometry, and Algebra can be difficult for some parents to teach. Power struggles between the parent and child can also be trying. Sometimes it can be difficult for a child to view their parent as their teacher.

The good news is there are options available to homeschool parents! Brock’s Academy provides single-class options and can serve as an ancillary program. Brock’s can relieve parents of the stress of trying to teach subject matters that they might not feel confident teaching. Brock’s Academy can work with parents to help them with their homeschool program and supplement the program when needed. If you are a homeschooler and you are seeking ancillary courses for your child, give Brock’s Academy a call at 425-483-1353.
